Bio
​Born in New York in 1965 as "Eliezar Gordon," Lay Z Gordon’s life journey is a testament to his deep connection to Israel.

Moving to Israel at the age of 4, he grew up in Tel Aviv, where he played basketball for the Maccabi Tel Aviv youth team.

At 16, he took a bold step, moving alone to Houston, TX, where he played basketball for Bellaire High School. His college basketball career followed at Towson University and Texas State University, where he became known as "Lazer Gordon."

In 1988, he returned to Israel and signed a multi-year deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv. Known across the nation as Lay Z Gordon, he enjoyed a 10-year career in the elite first league and proudly represented the Israeli national team.

Since retiring from professional basketball in 1998, Lay Z has continued to inspire as a renowned basketball TV commentator and mentor.
